This workshop took place along the Leona Heights trail in the Oakland hills. Nearby is the Leona Heights Sulfur Mine, a long-closed iron pyrite mining site which operated from the 1890s until the mid-1930s. Several concrete structures have been repurposed into street art, creating a quirky, isolated area visited mostly by hikers and cyclists.
