blog

I use this section as an archive documenting things I’ve done in recent and not-so-recent years. In 2022 I made this my cycling journal, but if you page through, you’ll see posts that go all the way back to 2005.

Braving the morning chill, this turned out to be a great way to spend a Sunday morning.

Our Daily Grind

Our Daily Grind

Title shortened from "Give us this day our daily grind"

In and Out of Fog

In and Out of Fog

The fog line continually receded this morning, by the time we were finished it was looking like a really nice day. Think I may have seen Jesus himself poking through the trees as the light filtered down onto Grizzly Peak and later onto Skyline.

Golden Hour Homebound

Golden Hour Homebound

Spent the day on the road for work, rode home as the sky was drenched in October late afternoon light. Took me back to 1990... you'd have to ask me about the back story in person.

Ramblin in 6/8

Ramblin in 6/8

I watched a lot of NFL films back when I learned to love football. This song always stuck in my head.

A secondary goal this year was to ride more frequently. In the last week I clinched having an average of riding a full one-third of the days in 2022.

This will be nice when it's finished, a stretch of Doolittle between Swan and Langley - expanded bike path.

Wetter than I figured

Wetter than I figured

Did not see this coming, even though I'd been really paying attention to the weather for the past week. Wasn't raining at the house when I left, but by the time I got down the hill - and it felt too late to turn back - well, there you go. On the positive side, I rode...

The Taco is Back

Running smooth once more, the Tacoma is healthy again. Shout out to Luke at Piedmont Shell.

CS – SL Marina

Happy to hear that the Cycle Sports Sunday morning rides will continue, even though the owner has sold the shop to Trek. Good community event, about 30 riders this time on a warm September day.

2 Day Mash Up

2 Day Mash Up

Is it heat? fatigue? laziness? No map, no video. I brought my bike to drop my truck off for a new catalytic on Tuesday, rode to work on Wednesday. 28.75 miles. See them for a limited time on Strava.

It’s Y3K!

It’s Y3K!

I knew I was going to ride a fair amount this year and set a goal of 3,000 miles. Curious to see how high I can push the total by year's end.

Los Osos CS

Los Osos CS

A gathering of about 20 cyclists met in Orinda to ride the 3 bears.

Glorious F***ing Morning!

Glorious F***ing Morning!

Absolutely beautiful out this morning - cool breeze very refreshing. Short sleeves at 6am.

Easy like Sunday morning

Impromptu Cyclesport group ride. Some new faces, some familiar, some who I had unknowingly ridden with before today.

The Chase

The Chase

Took a week off. Saw Anders fly past me on Fairmont, caught him on Walnut Rd in CV.

Grizzmo

Grizzmo

Summer morning, get out before the sun beats down too hard. Protect against UVs, right?

Ode to Link Wray

Ode to Link Wray

Someone mentioned "Rumble" to me today, and it propelled me home this afternoon. That and "Jack the Ripper"
